Salary:  $15.86/hour to $18.36/hour                             Filing Deadline: October 10, xxxx - 4:30 p.m. central time
 
Primary Objectives of Position: Provides a variety of counseling services for the purpose of assisting agency clients to become self-supporting by planning for, securing and maintaining employment; To assist agency clients to meet MFIP participation requirements.
 
Required Qualifications:  Bachelor?s degree in psychology, counseling, social services, or related discipline.  English language proficient.  Must work effectively in team-structured delivery system.  Able to deal with people individually or in groups.  Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  No prior history of client abuse.  Possess a valid driver?s license. 
 
Preferred Qualifications:  Exceptional written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.  At least one year of client service experience.  Knowledge of computer programs and software.  Persons who are veterans or possess the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) will be given additional consideration. 
 
Essential Functions:
1.       Conduct comprehensive assessment to identify barriers to employment and program service options.
 
2.       Assist clients to develop a meaningful Employment Plan for self-sufficiency. 
 
3.       Assist clients to successfully implement their individual plans for self-sufficiency goals.
 
4.       Arrange for agency supportive services in program participation.
 
5.       Utilize external resources and services to support MFIP client needs.
 
6.       Attain or exceed prescribed performance standards on a monthly basis.
 
7.       Maintain documentation of client contacts and progress related to their individual plans.
 
8.       Develops prospective worksite for clients scheduled to enter paid or unpaid work.
 
9.       Interacts with County to coordinate services, conduct orientations and monitor client progress.
 
10.      Maintain knowledge and understanding of MFIP policy requirements.
 
Other Responsibilities:    Performs other work related duties as assigned.
